...a good book for some of you to read would be Joshua by Joseph Girzone(sp?). It's very good for understanding Jesus' message and the differentiations between chuch and God as a figure. It's a good read for Christians and atheists alike, and I'd urge some of you to check it out.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but oh well, I wanted to post it somewhere.

It is certainly a good book for borderline Christians. However a feel good book is really not convincing for atheists. Christians tend to have these "flavor of the month" type books and ideas. Remember Jesus Christ Superstar? How about "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series? Remember when ever TV minister spoke in tongues? How about when God told Pat Robertson to run for President?

haha, A friend of mine introduced me to it, and he is far from 'borderline Christian.' He's extremely strong in his faith and I've not once seen him falter in that. That aside, it isn't just a 'feel good' Christian book, if that's what you got frm it when you read it then you did not absorb what was written and did not understand it.

For all those who wish to know, the book that I read was the one where Joshua enters a small town and eventually gets called to the Vatican, because his words are so 'controversial.'

The whole point was to outlaw Jesus and God's message and intention for what churches should be like, compared to what they are nowadays.

Oh, and Minimalist? "belief is useless"? No wonder you'rs so pissed off all the time.

EDIT: Also, Welsh Cake, you are in no position to tell me what I can and cannot speculate on. That's like me telling you "You're an atheist so you can't ever speculate or talk about whether Jesus existed or not. Otherwise that means you're not atheist."
