That equation can actually be found in the bible in form of a symbolic story. The snake in the garden of eden represents time as in a sinewave. Sin in the bible refers to "sine" = "sinewave". And as you can see in your own equation sinewave is abbreviated to "sin". meaning sinewave.

In the anciet world they used the symbol of a snake to refer to a sinewave because it shares the same shape, that of a sinewave.

Of course, because time will eventually kill everything and break down every element. It is time that makes us age and makes metals rust.
