If you'd been born on a desert island with no history of any of the Abrahamic churches, you would not be a christian.
To become a christian you must either be in doctrinated or have the indoctrinating material to hand.
You say you came to christianity by yourself so I'll say you were self indoctrinated.
But you could have chosen any one of a hundred equally invalid religions.
You obviously felt the need for something 'spiritual' and picked christianity because thats what people in your social circle do.
Do not kid yourself that if you lived in egypt, Iran, Afghanistan, Indonesia or any of the other deeply religious non-christian countries that you would be a christian because you just wouldnt.
