I think the seed had potential, but it was buried too deep in horseshit to develop properly. I've had some reasonable discussions with theists, on and off; you know how sometimes you come across something or someone that you resonate with as sort of a pet project, like taking them under your wing? Sometimes it pays off, while other times it doesn't. It's a rare breed indeed, fortunately, that chews your wing off, spits it back at you and expects you to say thank you.
