I think that the Bible is worth reading, or at least parts of it are. You just have to read it with the assumption that it's mythological, because it's frankly really comforting to know that parts of it never happened. Some of the Psalms are beautiful examples of ancient poetry on par with Ovid or Homer, and the teachings of Jesus are generally good to the extent that they've been preserved. They have to be sifted, but that's true when it comes to any moral philosophy from that time period. Other than that, the morality can get pretty abysmal, and the writing in some parts can be boring (obviously Leviticus wasn't ever meant to be entertaining, but ouch).
The Quran might have some good points but, to be honest, it's really hard to read for any length of time. People say that it's beautiful poetry in the Arabic, but in an English translation, it just seems choppy and repetitive.
