Here's some singers with unique voices.

Leonard Cohen; he's an interesting singer, a great songwriter, and I've been told that I can do him so well I should probably do a Leonard Cohen tribute act. That said, I'm not sure if there's much of a market for Leonard Cohen impersonators in Chicago.

Karen Dalton is a singer one of my teachers recommended to me. He said she has a unique voice; and, I suppose there aren't that many folk singers who sound like Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy:

Joanna Newsom. Her voice seems to get better every album; on her first album she sounds like Patti Mayonnaise on her best tracks and Alfalfa at her worst. On her second, the orchestra comes close to drowning her voice out. On her third, after her vocal surgery, she got a lot more conventional.
