So, why couldn't 'God' just forgive humanity for 'original sin' without a blood sacrifice? After all, it's his universe, his rules.
Wouldn't that be the moral thing to do?
But instead, the story we're supposed to swallow is that, Yahweh magically impregnated a 14 year old girl in order to give birth to himself, so he could then sacrifice himself to himself in order to forgive mankind.
Seriously...
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
