Ah you spotted something you considered not Christian then fukit? Better get some kindling wood ready for the fire I think. 
I like your take on prayer, if you didn't get that. That's mostly how I approach prayer.. ie strongly grounded. To invoke supernatural in either the address or the request requires that much more faith. I would contest at all that the benefits only increase here where you leave the party.
