ALL dogs, no matter what the breed can bite and be aggressive. There are different reasons for a dog to bite, fear is one of them. Such a hypocritical bullshit lie that you got from PETA.I'm sorry, but you're full of shit. Pitbulls have been bread to fight - they will fight other dogs to the death. To the death. What makes you think they would value human life above the lives of their own species? They're significantly more likely to attach children then any other breed, they're more likely to attack other dogs, and they're more likely to attack any human. A pitbull has no place in civilized society.
Bread? You are so ignorant.
Some lines have been bred to fight, you can breed a lab to fight. You know not all the does that are bred in those lines are aggressive or dominant enough to fight. They are use to what is call bait dogs. The tend not to fight back to much and are force to get mauled or killed by the other dogs. The fighting ones are beaten and are socialized with other dogs. You know any breed can be aggressive to other dogs when they are not socialized enough as a puppy.
The media lies, or withholds a lot of information in their articles to get attentions. Britney Spaniels, huskies, labs, and Goldens have also been in the papers for biting and/or killing. The media just didn't put the breed name in the headline.
"Pit Bulls" where once called nanny dogs before the media got bored with pointers, rottweilers, and German Shepherds, then turn on pits, because a few idiots like their muscles and wanted to see them fighting. They are very people friendly and have high good temperament test ratings.
Often times the pit bull is guessed as the wrong breed, a lot people really don't know what a pit really looks many assume because it is big and muscles its a pit or it shows aggregation its must be a pit. That is completely wrong! Can you find the pit pull? http://www.bulladelphia.org/understandab...tbull.aspx
All dogs bite, show aggression, and are dominant and/or submissive. I have been around many pit pull/bully dogs. My mom owns two pit mixes. I have seen more aggressive labs then pit pulls and that is because idiots think that a lab can to no wrong.
(sorry, I was trying to let this thread to go as you attended, but this post pissed me off.)
