Like any atheist (a well functioning one not a dumb one), once you link all the dots together and it clicks in your head, you start telling other's because you have taken many scientific ideas and intertwined them into the belief of randomness.
Randomness? Life is random.
Like a bowling game, depending on what angle the ball hits from, results will happen.
So why am I scared? How come there's not many people who think this way? Are people really that ignorant? Or is it lack of education? Is it parents?
I think parenting and their social circle (with the addition to lack of education) leads to religions being predominant around the world.
And I tell you what, it creeps me OUT! We are not that incapable of seeing something that's RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR FACE!
I'm not at all clear about what it is you find so frightening. Too many past posters claiming to be atheist who are worried about this or that aspect of atheism and wondering how we all sleep at night. Are you one of them?
