As a Christian why did you fear what was not in your future, were you demanding more of yourself than God did, could it be He gave you enough faith yet you rejected it as being to little because it did not fit your idea of salvation, yet it fit God's.

Now I see why you feared hell while being a Christian, you did not believe what Christ said. Christ said that the Father desires no one go to eternal punishment. Also free will was okay for you, but you would deny it to those you spoke of above, that seems quite unfair. Those in bold.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
