Oh. my. Goodness, you're special.
Quill, I see that you think people don't wish to deal with it. What do you consider, "Dealing with it", as opposed to "sweeping it under the rug"?
I ask because part of actively refusing to see race when looking at situations, is an integral part of not being racist. If there are indeed racial inequities being claimed, it merits a look but if it proves to be unfounded, why must we pay attention? Paying attention is what brings attention to the racial chasms in the first place.
When building a bridge from one side of a chasm to another, each side must start with their sides, and start building it towards the middle. Then everyone can walk back and forth from one side to the next.
Unfortunately, as history has taught us, the only thing that brings two races together amicably is interbreeding. So, while I disagree that racism should in any way be included in our lives, it is. It will be. It's slowly being torn down one baby at a time, and there's nothing that racists on either side can do about it. Therefore I support those who are willing to be colorblind, and I judge people on the merits of their actions, not the color of their skin in the meantime. I'll fight for those who face injustice, whatever race their faces reflect. Other than that, I'm not going to jump into every conversation out there about ethnicity. I'd rather there be none, quite frankly and it's not because I'm ignoring the problem: I'm trying to solve it.
ETA: I do so hope Polaris' genes end up dead ended with some white chick who can't produce him his offspring and to whom he cannot divorce because of his religious beliefs. That, that would be justice.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
