There are disadvantage of just about any idea on the planet. I'm sure someone more informed about the history of nationalist thinking could explain some things.

This is not an article, its a blog.
To be honest, given his extreme ignorance and his quoting of Stalin, I'd say he didn't even study how nationalism came to be, and how nationalism is actually the point where humanity has eventually arrived in sociological terms.

His internationalist paradise, the USSR collapsed like a house of cards after holding out for only about 69 years, and that, with the help of the oppressive Stalinist regime, killing millions just to keep the political climate stable.
