Do atheist belive in capital punishment

I accept that the death penalty may be necessary in some cases. I have no problem with it personally.

Though, in my opinion there should be absolutely no doubt - even the slightest hint of doubt should get life in prison (and I mean "life" not, sentenced to life and then out in 10-30 years), and should be limited to the worst criminals in society.

Seems like this would be limited to crimes committed on camera and in which the criminal vocalizes his intent.

And yet there could still be room for doubt.
