I love rain. I've written poems about rain. Other writers write poems about sunny days. That's a damn ass cliche, boring and mainstream as hell.

Same thing with writing about flowers, birds, or bees. (Emily Dickinson frequently did this, I've read all her poems and these made me roll my eyes.)
