It's got nowt to do with being a fan. I loved the Potter books. I felt they were some of the best young adult fiction to come along in years. I liked the books so much, I've never seen any of the films; the Potter series is one I'd rather keep in my head. Like LOTR, I doubt that a film could live up to what I've got in my head.
But I can't imagine someone being so invested in a book or a film that they get seriously concerned that the story may have turned out differently than they did, that's all. Everyone wanted Ron to end up with Hermione. Ron ended up with Hermione. What's all the fuss for?
