The soul is just the exact same thing as your consciousness.

If soul=consciousness then it is entirely attributable to the brain and therefore must die when the brain dies. Your definition excludes the possibility of any eternal existence.

There's a question of whether it survives death but if you can think of a a reason why it shouldn't.

Burden of proof fail. It's necessary for the claimant to provide evidence for their position. Until such evidence is provided, the claim remains unsubstantiated and can be ignored.
