You're right. If you are a christian and believe that the bible is God's inspired word, you can't pick and choose.
I was about to say "Amen!" and then you had to go and write this drivel:
I'm sorry but can you quote me chapter and verse where Jesus abolished certain OT laws but still kept the prohibition against love between people with similar body parts? And how can you as a Christian, condemn love between people with similar body parts and not call for their execution? The Bible couldn't possibly be more clear on this subject!
Quote:Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.Read my references.
Quote:Crystal clear! If two people with similar body parts do the nasty, this is an abomination to the Lord and you should kill them both!
Now you would suggest that Jesus comes along and abolishes these holy and righteous laws? Never mind how you've decided that an all-powerful, almighty, all-knowing god suddenly up and changes his mind about his own rules, let's see what the NT has to say on the subject:
He didn't change his mind about it being an abomination. He decided to deal with it in a different way in the new covenant.
Romans 1:26-32 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
...
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them
So Paul says that both gays and their supporters are worthy of death for their crimes.
Anyone who refuses to follow God's calling will "die". In the bible death is often referred to as not receiving eternal life, which is what he speaks of here in both senses. In fact, we're all worthy of death because we're all sinners.
Quote:I trust that you'll pardon me if I consider Paul, not you, to be the authority on what the new covenant with Yahweh-Holy Spook-Jesus is supposed to be?You're right. Read Romans 7:6 again.
