In the spirit of a good cartoon, I would comment it like this:
The author of the message has understood that the evidence for common ancestry of modern humans, apes and monkeys is so convincing, that the scientists involved in the endeavour had a kind of epiphany: they realized that humans, and by extension themselves, are essentially primates. Science has thus changed the way we see ourselves profoundly. This is a good slogan.
p.s. you could cross it out and write "apes".
