It's really more to develop the bond of your relationship to your creator.

He intercedes through who you are and everything you do. Transform the inner reality and you transform the outer reality. It's not some kind of magic wand that makes your problems disappear you have to do it yourself, you have freewill and responsibility for your own actions. So while it does work it works the way the Bible suggests not the way atheists insist it has to work with their stereotypical view of faith walled into this narrow materialist mindset.
