I am mostly a Vegetarian but I'm not strict about it. I will indulge in Fish or Chicken here and there but otherwise I don't eat other meats for ethical reasons. Especially sad that people still eat pigs. It's just...sad to be eating such a socially sentient animal. Meat eating will be superfluous at some point in the future and this era will be looked back with some shame as we do with our past. We spend more money on feeding and fattening up the animals we eat than we do on making cars a year, billions of wasted dollars. It's not even a necessary part of a diet, you can get your protein many other ways without hurting our sentient cousins of Earth. I think using the Evolution argument to eat meat is a cop-out and doesn't address the ethical issue at hand.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.
