It isn't anti-capitalistic to make illegal a market for all save the government? It certainly seems to serve against the competition created by capitalism...

If the government can provide a service which it should be bound by law to do (i.e. protecting the lives of its citizens) then it should do so. Insurance companies won't be outlawed by a government service, much like they aren't outlawed in the UK. Instead, they exist to provide a competing and better service than the government might.

+1 @ bold Though again, if a government were to make the market illegal, it might not itself enter into the market (ie: slave market)... and so too it might offer a similar service (that is not necessarily better). It rather depends on the circumstances.

Did you mean to suggest that "we" (being everyone) is going to die? That's a given though... why would you mention it?

Did you mean to suggest that "we" (being Americans) are going to suffer terribly now that this bill has passed? But what rational would you have for believing such nonsense? :S

Did you mean to suggest that "we" (being fellow forum members) are f***ing doomed for some reason? I can't fathom why you might think that... but it is yet another one of many interpretations of your very short, half-censored sentence...

Rather than me guessing over the millions of things you might mean... why don't you elaborate instead?
