Bad stuff in the New Testament

"Jesus will tear famillies apart" That's because some will choose not to listen to him.

Sure. That's fine. But you asked for bad stuff in the new testament. I would consider violence because I don't believe in the same thing you do a bad thing. Why ruin my whole family because I don't believe in God? My parents, brother, and sister are very religious. This quote belies the message of the NT that Jesus brings love and compassion.

"All these people are worthy of death" Everyone is worthy of death for they have sinned, but Jesus died to reddem us.

This is in Paul's epistle to the Romans, after Jesus' death. He is not saying that one escapes death through Jesus in spite of these things, he is saying people who do these things deserve to die. Gossipers. Pre-Marital sex. Death. Bad.

"Don't Touch yourself..." Good advice.

"Marrying divorced women is adultery" Good advice

Really? So a woman who is abused by her husband for years and finally divorces him should never have a chance at marriage again?

"The whole slavery thing" He doesn't promote slavery, but just says not to oppose them, which makes sense since Jesus tought to turn the other cheek. He never endorses slavery, just tries to help those who are in it.

So if I created a book espousing a moral code, and I say in it that children being raped by priests should be obedient to the priests for they were chosen by God to represent him. I am not condoning child rape? Even if not directly condoning something, by acknowledging something terrible exists and not condemning it, am I not condoning it anyways?

"Don't love the world or anything in it" He just says to focus on God, not on earthly things. Not a big deal.

I'll give you this. This is really only effective for a non-christian. It is appalling to me to not take joy in the physical world.

"Non-Christians are the anti-christ" He means they are against Christ, therefore Anti-Christ. Not some demonic being, but it is true you're all against Christ.

Calling people liars who don't believe the same thing you do is the epitome of bad. Do you consider yourself a liar because you don't believe in Mithra, Allah, or Zeus? What would you think about someone who called you a liar in the same light?

No. You didn't. You conveniently skipped over the two warning women to be silent and not do their hair or wear makeup. And you have not clearly addressed several of the others in light of the question you asked us.
