And I understand metaphor. The thing is God is giving you an amazing choice, yes the other option may be bad, but no one needs to choose it. Just choice Jesus! It's that simple!
Sorry, but you must show that a soul exists before you claim that it has to go somewhere. Until that point, I'll maintain that neither is, in fact, a choice.
When you are saying that this choice that you are proposing isn't a bad thing, you are presupposing a belief in god, JL1. If you are sitting on my side of the fence, then you'd see that turning off my brain and dumping all of the knowledge I have that contradicts the existence of anything supernatural is one of the most abhorrent things I can imagine. So the analogy of the gun to your head is very applicable.
