But if people believe everything told to them as a kid, why do no adults believe in Santa Claus?

The answer to that is actually really simple: at a certain point, kids have doubts about Santa, and when they ask their parents, they aren't told that he does exist. There comes a point in every child's life where the parents admit that Santa is a fiction, something they don't do with god.

Put it this way: if you expressed your doubts about Santa to your dad, I doubt he would ever silence you the way he does when you doubt god, right?

So why are you an atheist if you can't prove it?

Because atheism isn't the position "there is no god, ever," it's "I'm not going to believe in a god until you can give me some evidence." The default is to disbelieve in a claim, as Jacob and I have been trying to show you these past few pages, until there's evidence for it, wouldn't you agree?
