God may or may not be evil... that judgement is reserved for one's particular views of what denotes evil
If God to you is automatically just, then is it not also true to you that he is not evil (to you). However, God could easily be evil to others, if they have indeed defined his characteristics as being such. Evil is in the eye of 'the beholder'.
