When it comes to that rsb has no idea. As I mentioned, you need to address it under the proper care of a qualified professional who is capable of diagnosing and addressing the core issue/issues.

I'll give you an example, that may or may not apply to you, but it applies to countless others and I've known some of them personally - victims of child molestation. This event is capable of mentally scaring the victim, and the victim may create emotional attachment to certain behaviours as a coping mechanism. That's actually quite normal in and of itself, and something that just everyone does when faced with trauma, but when it becomes a problem is if the behaviour is unhealthy or other negatively impacts upon a person's life.

Another example - ADHD. Studies have proven that the majority of children diagnosed with ADHD and treated with Ridilin can be instead treated without any medication and have all of their symptoms/behaviours disappear. This is by no means an invitation to throw out your children's medication if they're diagnosed with it, but it's a sure and certain invitation to seek medical care from a specialist who may be able to better treat the child than through the family GP.

Do as much as you can for yourself, I think that's always important. But it's an incomplete answer, and you know this even if rsb does not. Just ignore him he's clearly not very knowledgeable and probably watches too much DrPhil.

You need to see a specialist, which from what you've said it sounds like you are doing.

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
