Then again it depends on what you hope to accomplish. If you are trying to get someone to deconvert or at least consider your point of view on a topic as touchy as religion, you have a tough row to hoe. If you just want to exchange views or get a better feel for how someone else thinks, you're less likely to feel as if you've wasted your time.
