I'm a technician at Intel. It is the most I've ever been paid and the least I've ever worked. The work I do is extremely technical so the random putz factor (No random putz could come in and perform my job.) is at work to make my pay worthwhile to the company. I love my job, in that it pays for my family and is genuinely interesting sometimes; but I long for some other thing. I've thought of growing mushrooms or brewing beer or some combination of both. I'm probably too comfortable and apathetic to actually engage in either.
Random advice:
Don't go off your meds
When looking for a job, go through a temp agency. Many positions are available without even interviewing and it is a great way to try out several lines of work.
If you don't like the way things are going; change what you are doing.
One chip equals three biscuits.
