Why is evolution hiding?

Do you think any particular concept of God that you accepted is directly responsible for the change? And what, if any, difference would it make to you now if you were to discover that it was little more than a helpful illusion at the time?

Well it transformed me to do what I couldn't do for myself so in that case that illusion did me more good than all the multivitamins in the world

What if you actually did do it for yourself though, with the aid of your own ideas that only seemed significant to you, but in fact had no casual relationship other than setting up a false narrative in which you felt empowered, and you just haven't given yourself proper credit? Maybe there are other narratives, including true ones, in which you'd feel even more capable?
