I'm not a vegan. In fact I'm not even a vegetarian.

But I think its important to differentiate between veganism and vegan diet.

WHAT? I hope something you said will tell me why this makes sense.

I think it is highly likely that eating vegan could contribute to preventing this.

Veganism seems to be another matter.

WHAT? Nope. Veganism and eating vegan are the same exact thing.

I base this on the fact that I have a friend who says she eats vegan just because of health reasons. She said to me once something along the lines of 'you can eat vegan without believing in what those silly hippies think'.
Maybe I spoke too soon. I have to confess my knowledge of this particular matter is rather superficial. But the impact of the meat industry on the environment and the like is something I am pretty certain about.
