In actuality you wouldn't expect Eskimos to be hairy due to natural selection, because clothes.
Which path am I being lead down?

Does evolution have other tools for making new creatures?Sexual selection. If a mutation makes you more virile, more sexually attractive, etc. then you are more likely to pass on your genes.

But parts of living creatures are constructed of intricate components with connections that all need to be in place for the thing to work, controlled by many genes that have to act in the proper sequence. This is like the eye argument that Creationists love to parrot, even though it has been thouroughly debunked. And the answer is yes. We'll use the eye because it is an easy one. I'll let Neil deGrasse Tyson's explanation on Cosmos last week speak to this. It's at the 22 minute mark, but I would watch the whole thing for an overall look at evolution.
would Natural selection choose parts that did not have all their components existing, in place, connected, and regulated? Would these parts would work?
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
