Coming from the UK I've never heard anyone say "I'll pray for you". However if you go onto a Christian Forum you get a whole section where people pray for each other. Do these people actually sit down, clasp their hands together and say "God, Mt555bpTTITT on the internet has a mathematics exam coming up, please help them out"?
And in real life when someone says "I'll pray for you" do they actually do it, or is it just a saying?
I had a long discussion with a Christian on another forum about the failed prayer studies. Apparently they weren't praying to the right god, which seems to be one Christian way of countering these studies. What they haven't considered is that if it is that difficult to find the correct God to pray to, then it is still pretty pointless.
