Well, I appreciate all of the intelligent, articulate, and enriching discussion and knowledge.
Without diminishing the well informed and thoughtfull posts from the evolutionists, you have demonstrated that it is theory and that is my entire point.
They were kept alive because of the inaccesible location. Very good! A theory but a good one.
Possibly a cataclysmic event, like the meteor strike that hastened the end of the dinosaurs (and appears to have changed the climate sufficiently that it would no longer support such enormous land animals). Or disease, or famine, or some other environmental factor that affected their fitness for survival.
Yes, that is a well informed and logical conclusion. Yet a theory not a fact and unproven.
It is estimated that more than 99.8% of the species that have ever existed are now extinct. Yes well scientists have fucked up so many times during their estimations that I can't and neither you can be sure of such statistics.
But if I had to make a guess to save my life I'd go with what Science said on it trusting that they are more credible and learned than myself.
