No. Just kidding. There was just a really annoying troll in another thread and I got inspired by him.
I find these stories fascinating because I was raised in a secular, socialist home. Its interesting how different and yet similar families can be. In many ways people are basically the same, whatever their beliefs may be.
So welcome to the wonderfull world of... atheism.
Haha. Unfortunately complete indoctrination from birth is a difficult mindset to shed. For me it required a great deal of research, critical thinking, and surprisingly, having children. I would love to go into detail and will I am sure in another more appropriate thread. Basically, the moral dilemma I saw as a loving father of two girls is how could I possibly let them endure pain or suffering if I could prevent it. If they choose to be atheists then died suddenly they would most assuredly suffer in "hell", according to christianity. Why? As their dad I don't care what they do or say or believe, if there was actually a heaven or hell and I truly loved them why would I ever make them suffer? I am sure more experienced and knowledgeable philosophers would explain this more effectively and possibly tear the question apart, but I will start a new thread and see how it fares. My love of science played a integral part of my de-conversion as well. Anyway, thanks for all the warm welcomes.
