Twilight is pure Thesaurus rape. Which is kinda sad, because the story itself is pretty good. It's just the abysmal writing that ruins everything. We get it, Stephenie, you discovered thesaurus.com. No need to use it on every word in your book.
50 Shades is just a poor Twilight fanfic that doesn't really make a lot of sense. James seems to have taken writing lessons from Meyer. Awful writing. Truly awful. All of the "sexy" scenes are either crap or kinda awkward. I don't understand the hype at all. I read more erotic novels when I was 14 and my Mum gave me her Jackie Collins books to read!
Would you like to particularize why you assess her prose to be so execrable that any erudite connoisseur would endeavour to loathingly antagonize it? Is its malady exacerbated by her arduous idiosyncrasies, or rather her dearth of elocutionary aptitude?
btw. what can you expect from someone whose first name is Stephenie. That's annoying right off the bat.
The fact that Stephenie Meyer can't even spell her own name correctly speaks volumes. Maybe you can judge a book by its cover.
Another thing wrong with 50 Shades and Twilight is that they both promote unhealthy relationships. This is especially worrying in Twilight because it's aimed at teenage girls who are still learning about relationships and don't need a book telling them that if a boy from school tells you he's been breaking into your house at night for weeks to watch you sleep and literally stalks you 24/7 you should marry him, and not call the police and get a restraining order.
50 Shades is also guilty of the stalkiness, and some of it is a tad rapey, but the intended audience are adults who should be able to tell that in real life Christian Grey would not be so great.
ETA: The best synopsis of any chapter of any book ever!
