Late to the party, I know, but generally, in honest and intellectually rigorous debate and dialogue, one usually presents evidence to the contrary in the form of an argument or data (preferably both) which explains or highlights the erroneous nature of the argument/evidence/data to which they are opposed.

Just sayin.

But it is amusing listening to people online who like to think they're putting the world to rights with a quick search on google.
