The definition from wikipedia says: Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems, such as those connected with reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language.[1][2] Philosophy is distinguished from other ways of addressing such problems by its critical, generally systematic approach and its reliance on rational argument.[3] In more casual speech, by extension, "philosophy" can refer to "the most basic beliefs, concepts, and attitudes of an individual or group".[4]
That is not the inner meaning boy.
That is one of the method to work in order to reach the goal.
There are other methods of course even more effective but i am not
talking about a method to get to the goal.
The inner meaning is the goal.
What ...........love for wisdom means?
What is wisdom?
How you get real wisdom?
Can you get real wisdom in this finite universe?
Of course not as the term finite imply that you can not reach 100% wisdom
so total wisdom can not be achieved in this finite universe.
Wisdom is total knowledge and total knowledge can only be achieve in an infinite stratum or place.
So the inner meaning of philosophy (love for wisdom) is to merge in that infinite stratum known by some as nirvana, paradise or samadhi.

Quote:Religions involve worshipping a deity of some kind, usually involving reading some scripture or practicing some ritual regularly. Spirituality is different in that they don't have to worship anything. Both categories are overlapping and equally stupid.
You only got a limited idea about this issue.
Religion is external, spirituality is internal.
Externally you got nothing, internally you got everything.
God is you in a material form so spirituality is the effort to
understand who you really are.
In religion God is a separate entity that will always be separate
even in paradise.
In spirituality you are God and when you realize this there is no more
separation. This stage is the paradise the nirvana and the samadhi.
Religion get nowhere while spirituality get at the core of everything.
When a drop of water get into the ocean she become the ocean itself.

Quote:We don't know. However, there is no evidence to suggest that a persons mind continues after their body dies.
Good.
I am glad you change your mind about the life to be finite.
I shell reward you with a kudos for exit the corral of dogma
once in your life.
Try not to go back again in this ugly place boy.

position in society and your qualifications.
You discover a huge nugget of gold worth at least a million but this nugget is covered in dog poo.
What you do?
Do you pick it up and make it yours or you leave it there for someone else to pick it up?
Quote:I would first spray off the shit with a power hose or something like that, then retrieve the golden nugget, assuming it hasn't been claimed already of course.
Sorry boy, no deal.
You haven't got the time to go and get a power hose because in the meantime someone else will get it.
Or you get it now with the crap on it or you loose.
Quote: I would love to hear the point you're trying to make here.
It is all about some of you guys that reckon that qualifications and degrees
mean everything.
The I control the mind and the mind control the body not the other way around.
Considering that physical science is below the mind that create it it is obvious that by relying on this science you wan't be able to get at the core of the all.
So you keep on dealing with crap instead of going at the core and get the real thing.
