fine, i'll put it super simple for you,
golden rule = you want to be greeted with a smile and a hug so you do that to other people, but there are some people who just don't like hugs. if you do that to people who don't like hugs, that isn't respectful.
platinum rule = they want to be greeted with a smile and a hug, and you do that to them, that is much more respectful for them, abide to their wishes if you want, they don't want to be greeted with a smile and a hug, you don't greet them with a smile and a hug
