My home is full of knives that I use every day. I have a couple of guns I inherited and never shot(I have no ammo for them or desire to shoot them). If all guns were to magically disappear, I doubt my life would change much at all. I can't say the same if all knives disappeared.
In my opinion the utility of knives far outweighs the utility of guns.
The difference is I'm an Atheist so I have to protect myself. You have the almighty lord Jesus H Christ protecting you.
I don't believe God would protect me from your or anyone elses assault. God(in my opinion) is more interested in humanity and not individual human beings.
Regarding guns....I'm not anti-gun. I am sure some people find utility in guns. It would be ludicrous to say that guns have no utility. Do I want the government to ban personal pea shooters? Negative. Do I want the government to ban personal thermo nuclear weapons? Affirmative. Somewhere between the pea shooter and a thermonuclear weapon is a line that marks the optimal amount of individual freedom to bare arms. Where that line is, I am not entirely sure. Since guns are not important to me....and since I do not feel threatened by guns(I'm more concerned about dying in an automobile accident than in some shooting), at this point in time I am willing to accept the judgment of the crowd regarding who should and shouldn't be allowed to have guns and which guns they should have.
