We'll never reach the hopelessly convinced, and those guys are gonna comprise this movie's main audience, but there are those we can reach, and in those cases there are three possible outcomes: they'll either A, not see the movie, B, see the movie without the addition of a dissenting voice if we do nothing, or C, be exposed to the movie with the added possibility of being shown how thoroughly dishonest and manipulative it is.
A doesn't matter, but B kinda does, and we have an opportunity to turn some fraction of B into C. We aren't going to change minds by opting out of the conversation and allowing these movie-making conmen to continue expressing their side by puppeteering a strawman version of ours.
Under most circumstances, I would agree, but not with this, and there's a very important reason why: most Christians aren't even going to care about it. If ignored, it will basically be seen only by Talibangelicals and their families. If a major stink is raised about it, you can count on the Fox News crowd to turn it into a "War on Christmas" sort of farce, bringing this stupid thing to the attention of millions of Republichristians, many of whom will be reinforced in their stupidity.
As I said, this is a movie which can only succeed if people like us help it to by giving the exposure it can't get naturally.
