Probably since conservatism is easier to inculcate in more religious people, hence why the two go so well together so often. And atheists don't tend to be religious, so it's not surprising that you don't find many conservative atheists, and those you do are often libertarians.
Quote:Yes, it is nauseating if you're an atheist who is not so rabidly pro-diversity and pro-freakery.
What do you mean by "pro-freakery"? Whenever I see language like that from the right, it's nearly always poorly concealed homophobia or transphobia, so I really hope that's not what you mean.
Quote:It's even hell if you're an atheist who likes government to balance their budgets, defend their borders, uphold the goddamn constitution, not persecute tea-party groups via the IRS, defend foreign consulates like Benghazi, etc, etc.
Yeah, if you think the IRS was persecuting Tea Party groups, you're full of shit. Firstly, the groups they investigated (both right and left) were supposed to be social welfare groups with no political activity. Worse for you, the only group they followed up on was a progressive group.
Oh and does the right-wing have, like, an obligation to shout out "Benghazi!" at every available opportunity?
Quote:What was your question? Oh yeah, there are no atheist/humanist groups for people who are not insane liberals. Correct. But then it is getting harder to express conservative views for *anyone*, not just atheists. Remember, liberals can't argue, hence they have to silence you via other means.
I can make assertions too, with just as little (no) evidence to back them up. You, at least, don't seem to be able to argue, just make generalizations.
