Reject religion for intellectual reasons, not emotional.
Your parents have issues all their own and appear to be using god to excuse their behaviour.
Though how they plan on explaining abusing their children to their god would be interesting.
But if you turn away from religion just because of your parents you hae done it for the wrong reasons.
Before you make a decision examine all the evidence for and against religion and the sciences that disprove it(Evolution etc)
THEN make your call.(This forum is an excellent place to do it)
P.s I've just looked up the "unforgivable sin"
If this is the case then the evangalist christians efforts to convert us heathen atheists surely must be a waste of time.
We've spent our lives committing the "unforgivable sin" so we must be well beyond salvation.
Or am I missing something.
