If someone believes God is the Creator, how is that being dishonest? To be it is being genuine.

I don't think that someone who believes God is the creator is being dishonest. Misguided, yes, but not dishonest. What I do regard as dishonest is taking the attitude of "This is how I think God ought to have done it so I'm ignoring all evidence that he did it a different way."
