By 'hardline atheist' I mean something like 'atheist who is liable to argue with religious types rather than adopt some sort of wishy-washy "live and let live" position'. Although I have substantial disagreements with Dawkins' Philosophy of Biology, his tactics re. religion are spot on. By contrast, S.J. Gould's stuff about 'different magesteriums' just pisses me off. Religion is the antithesis of rational thought.
