That genie will never be rebottled. Let's also be clear about something, the only hold religion had on science was via intimidation and oppression. Religion was never a contributor, partner, or champion of scientific endeavor.
At best what religion does is the Johny come lately crap, only accepts it after being drug kicking and screaming like a bratty kid when told Santa are their parents. But instead of giving up on bad claims, the try to use it to prop up their own superstitions.
