Not new, or unique to Christians. I get this pretty much every single time I get the upper hand in a debate with followers of an organized religion.

"Brains aren't needed for salvation, most belivers couldn't read"

I actually agree there are some things beyond the perception capacities of the human senses (We can see the world from how our eyes detect it, but that could be just how our eyes perceive it, not how the world really is; like the colorblind for instance, the apple is no less red just because they can't see it), but to discount reason altogether as evil? Welcome to 1984
