There is no god(little g, the names and stories people give the title) - because we are all God (Big G, the collective godhead). There can't be a God and gods - because ultimately any little g god is part of the larger whole, Big G. The only thing standing between ourselves and the godhead is the construct of self. If we remove it, we will experience wholeness. Not that any of this is a little g god in context - but, in your islam, for example - submitting ones self to the will of allah is self sacrifice, a path to enlightenment. Not a path to Allah(little g god), but a path to Big G God.
?
I'm going to make a stab at adding to this but I'll make a distinction between Allah and God because it will be easier.
Allah is absolute reality and everything is a manifestation of absolute reality. Absolute reality cannot be understood by the intellect but humans can experience it if they don't identify with the ego which believes that everything is separate from absolute reality.
God is just a label but humans have a habit of attaching ideas to the label and believing their ideas are what absolute reality is. They then worship their ideas.
I came across an interesting - Neil deGrasse Tyson Quote.
Quote:We are part of this universe; we are in this universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts, is that the universe is in us.
Science cannot prove or disprove if absolute reality lies beyond the physical universe, of course.
