There is no god(little g, the names and stories people give the title) - because we are all God (Big G, the collective godhead). There can't be a God and gods - because ultimately any little g god is part of the larger whole, Big G. The only thing standing between ourselves and the godhead is the construct of self. If we remove it, we will experience wholeness. Not that any of this is a little g god in context - but, in your islam, for example - submitting ones self to the will of allah is self sacrifice, a path to enlightenment. Not a path to Allah(little g god), but a path to Big G God. ?
