He did that to make it look like an innocuous coming together. It worked as the referee and linesmen didn't see the incident. If Suarez just stood there then it would be pretty evident he was in the wrong, by him diving it throws doubt into the referee's mind about what just happened, and if the referee is in doubt he can't take any action.

The thing is, when he did this playing for Liverpool he did have to undergo psychiatric therapy. Liverpool as I said before is one of the only clubs in the world to employ a full time psychiatrist by the name of Steve Peters. Suarez had all the psychiatric help he could ask for, problem is he obviously doesn't pay attention and it obviously doesn't work.
